The CEF support will also enhance the project team’s efforts to mature the entire CCS value chain.<\/span>

<\/span>With support from CEF Energy, the consortium \u2014 Akmen\u0117s Cementas, SCHWENK Latvija, Larvik Shipping AS, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, and KN Energies <\/span><\/span><\/a>\u2014 will:<\/span> <\/span>
<\/span>\ud83d\udd39 Capture CO\u2082 from industrial sources in Lithuania and Latvia.<\/span>
<\/span>\ud83d\udd39 Transport it via onshore routes to a multimodal terminal in Klaip\u0117da.<\/span>
<\/span>\ud83d\udd39 Ship it for permanent geological storage in the North Sea.<\/span>

<\/span>By 2030, the project aims to mitigate CO\u2082 emissions from hard-to-decarbonize industries, strengthening Europe\u2019s integrated and sustainable energy future.<\/span>
